How to Ensure You Dont Lose Your Lot!

Ensuring you are not OUTBID

By logging into the members area you can monitor all your bids and place bids quickly if outbid. Here is how :

1. Login to Members Area
- Login with your account details.
- Scroll down to "Items I am Bidding On".
- Here you will see the lots you are bidding on including:

Status - this will tell you whether you have been outbid.
Time Left - how long before this lot closes.
Your Highest Bid - your highest bid that you have entered.
Your Bid - your bid that is placed (if you have not been outbid).
Current Bid - the current winning bid on the lot.

You can click refresh or press F5 to reload this page as the time counts down for each lot until it closes.

This way you can ensure you are not outbid.
- If you are outbid your STATUS will change to 'Outbid'.
- Click on the lot description and this will take you directly to the lot.
- Place your bid.

What happens if someone outbids me 1 minute before the lot closes ?
- If the lot is outbid within the last 10 minutes, it will be extended by 10 minutes.
- (from the successful bid time)
- This giving you ample time to place another bid and not lose your lot.

Example 1:

- Lot closes at 12:10.
- You are currently the highest bidder.
- 12:09 another bidder places a higher bid.
- The lot will now close at 12:19.
- Providing no more bidders place another successful bid.

Example 2:
- Lot closes at 12:10.
- You are currently the highest bidder.
- 12:02 another bidder places a higher bid.
- The lot will now close at 12:12.
- Providing no more bidders place another successful bid.

   Autobids & Bid Increments

What are Autobids?

- Our autobid facility allows you to place your highest bid.
- If another bidder places a bid, it will bid on your behalf up to your highest bid.
- A bid will be placed using the following bid increments :
(Unless otherwise stated)

FromToBid Increment
£5.00-£50.00£5.00
£50.00-£100.00£10.00
£100.00-£500.00£25.00
£500.00-£1000.00£50.00
£1000.00-£5000.00£100.00
£5000.00-£10000.00£250.00
£10000.00-£50000.00£500.00
£50000.00-£100000000.00£1000.00

Example :
- A Lot has a bid of £100.
- You bid £300.
- Next minimum bid is £125 (£100 + £25 bid increment).
- Your bid of £300 is accepted. However only a bid of £125 is needed to be placed.

- Another bidder places a bid of £150 (next minimum bid).
- They are immediately told that their bid is not enough to outbid you.
- A bid is placed on your behalf : £175 (£150 + £25 bid increment).

This continues until your high bid is outbid. At which point you will be notified by email.

Outbidding an existing Autobid
-Your bid must exceed the autobid on the lot

Example:
- A bidder has placed an Autobid of £150 on a lot (the current bid is at £100).
- The next acceptable bid for the lot is £125.
- You place a bid for £125 and are informed on screen your bid is not high enough.
- The next acceptable bid for the lot is £150.
- You place a bid for £150 and are informed on screen your bid is not high enough.
(As there is already an autobid of £150).
- The Autobidder is still winning the lot at £150.
- You must bid £175 to secure the lot.

   Auction Sniping

All our online auctions have auction sniping enabled.
Sniping works by extending the closing time of a lot if a bid is placed within the last 10 minutes.
The lot is extended from the time of the bid and our default sniping time to extend is 10 minutes.

Example:
- Lot closes at 13:00.
- Bid placed at 12:55.
- As a bid is placed within last 10 minutes, the lot is extended to close at 13:05.
