Lots Unveiled For Summer Stadium Sale
Arsenal has today announced full details of the items of Highbury which will be sold ahead of the Club's move to Emirates Stadium in the summer.
Together with the appointed auctioneers - Bache Treharne, Arsenal has compiled a list of over 2,700 historic items from the Club's famous stadium, which will be sold during the Highbury Auction activities this summer.
The wide ranging historic and quirky items up for sale at the Highbury Auction include the goal posts and nets, corner flags, the centre circle, Arsène Wenger's seat in the dug out, leather chairs and a table from the Managing Director's office, selected carpets from VIP areas, George Graham's old desk, a red double-decker bus used in the 1989 League Championship trophy parade, all the numbered boot pegs from the Highbury boot room, stadium turnstiles and even 20 red Arsenal wheelie bins!
Included in the planning process was the consideration that both the East and West Stands at Highbury are listed by English Heritage. Therefore some items, including the famous Herbert Chapman bust and the Clock from the Clock End will either be retained at Highbury or taken to Emirates Stadium.
The Highbury Auction will be structured around two general sales, the first commencing on Monday 19th June with the online sale of many of the volume, commercial and catering goods from the stadium.
The online sales will be followed by the main Highbury Auction on Saturday 29th July, when over 1,000 'crown jewels' from the stadium will be sold at a spectacular event in front of the East Stand at the stadium.
Admission to the Highbury Auction will be limited to 8,000 people and can only be gained through purchase of the event catalogue, but Arsenal supporters and football memorabilia collectors from all around the world will also have the opportunity to buy items via a live webcast of the auction.
Commenting on the details of the Highbury Auction, Arsenal Managing Director Keith Edelman said:
"We are very excited about the Highbury Auction and looking through the auction list, it's amazing how many wonderful items from the stadium will be available, including my current desk, which is fact the same desk George Graham used when he was manager of the Club!
We are expecting the demand to be huge for the auction, which is why we have organised the live webcast facility, in order to enable as many Arsenal supporters and collectors from all around the world the opportunity to own a piece of football history.
We strongly urge people interested in attending the Highbury Auction event to click here to purchase catalogue which guarantees entry.
The man who will bring the hammer down on the lots at the Highbury Auction, Bache Treharne Auctioneer, Kieron Gammell said:

The auction will be full of truly significant items linked to the history of Arsenal Football Club, which has created a huge amount of worldwide interest.
