Huge Interest in Debut Auction
Limited Edition 1/3000 sold for over £3000
The first of several Highbury Auctions, the auction of 35 Highbury Heritage box-set generated huge interest and raised several thousand pounds for The David Rocastle Trust. Each box set contained a uniquely numbered 2005/2006 Commemorative Home Shirt, a personally signed letter from Peter Hill-Wood and a fascinating publication which unearths some amazing stories about the Arsenal kit.

The numbers selected for auction included legendary Arsenal shirts (such as numbers 6, 7, 9 and 10 of 3000), ones with a more contemporary importance (Thierry Henry’s Number 14), historic years for the Club (e.g. 1913, 1971, 2006 of 3000) and numbers which will always be associated with the Club such as 49, which represents the unprecedented unbeaten league run by the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ team. There were over 600 bids over the course of the week from over the world, with successful bidders coming from the UK, Norway, Ireland and Australia. Limited Edition 1/3000 sold for over £3000 and will be presented before the Arsenal vs. Blackburn Rovers game by the Club’s Chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

All the other winning bidders have been invited to Highbury where Charlie George will take them on a stadium tour and present them with Highbury Heritage sets.
